  • What is clinical counselling?
    Clinical counselling is a type of therapy that focuses on helping individuals overcome emotional, psychological, and behavioral problems. It is based on evidence-based practices and is provided by licensed mental health professionals who have specialized training in this area.
  • How do I know if I need clinical counselling?
    There are many reasons someone might seek clinical counselling. Some common issues include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, grief and loss, addiction, and life transitions. If you're experiencing any of these challenges, or if you're simply feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to cope, clinical counselling can be helpful.
  • What can I expect in a counselling session?
    Each session is tailored to your specific needs and goals. You can expect to be listened to with empathy and without judgment. Your counsellor will help you explore your thoughts and feelings, and work with you to develop strategies to manage your challenges and achieve your goals.
  • How many sessions will I need?
    The number of sessions you'll need will depend on your unique situation and goals. Some people find relief in just a few sessions, while others may need more long-term support. Your counsellor will work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs.
  • Is counselling confidential?
    Yes, counselling is confidential. Your counsellor is bound by ethical and legal obligations to keep your information private. There are some exceptions to this, such as if your counsellor is concerned that you may harm yourself or others, or if they are required by law to report certain information.
  • How much does counselling cost?
    For individuals or couples, each 60 minute session costs $140 + GST. For families, each 60 minute session costs $150 + GST.
  • Do you offer sliding scale or reduced fee counselling?
    I believe everyone should have access to quality mental health care. I offer sliding scale and reduced fee counselling to those who demonstrate financial need. Please contact me to discuss your options.
  • How do I book a counselling session?
    You can book a session by contacting me via phone or email. I'll work with you to find a time that works for you and schedule your appointment. You can also view my availability and directly book an appointment through the Book an Appointment link found on the home page.
